FAQ

Electrolysis is an electrically based treatment and the only approved permanent hair removal method that is available for all types of hair and skin.

The treatment utilises hairlike sterile probes that are inserted parallel to the hair follicle where a small amount of alternating and/or direct current is applied which will destroy the follicle’s ability to produce new hairs.

Electrolysis can effectively treat all types of hairs on the face and body on all types of skins (face, arms, underarms, legs, thighs, breast, abdomen, and back)

Everyone is different, but usually a number of 5 to 8 appointments that are 2 to 6 weeks apart are required, depending on treatment side and previous hair removal methods used.
Please keep in mind that factors like hormones, medications, health conditions, and genetics may influence the electrolysis treatment, healing process, and eligibility.

Diathermy is a term used for the removal of benign raised skin lesions and vascular lesions via electricity. A fine sterile needle or probe is used to cauterise and dehydrate the the lesions and vessels.
With this treatment the skin’s barrier function will be disrupted and the body’s own immune system will help to remove and clear/heal the lesion , therefore you should not schedule an appointment prior to a social event, when your feel your immunity is compromised, or your sensitivity is increased. (e.g. cold, flu, sinusitis, hay fever, migraine, menstruation ect.)

  • Vascular Lesions
  • Avascular Lesions
    • Skin tags, papilloma, keratosis, and moles for example are treated via dehydration and denaturisation of protein.
      • The lesions may darken and flake off 24 to 48 hours post treatment
      • Treat the area like an open wound
      • please avoid scratching, stretching, or picking of the treated area as this may lead to scarring. Once the skin has healed and is ready for exposure the scabs will fall off naturally.
  • Some lesions will require a second or third treatment but that will be determined upon appointment.
  • Avoid getting the treated areas in the sun and if not possible regularly apply SPF 50
